I have entered your final exam scores and your grades in the course into Pageout. The line item entitled "Course Grade with Extra Credit Calculated Correctly" is your grade in this course, unless you dropped the class. I enjoyed working with you and hope to see you in another course at De Anza soon. Happy Holidays! Michele Fritz

Error in Greensheet regarding Final Exam Location    Posted: Dec 8, 2004
I am so sorry that there was a mistake in my syllabus regarding the location of the final exam. As a result, we had several distressed people show up late to the exam. My deepest apologies for this error. If you tried to find the location of the exam but couldn't, I have another option for you to take the exam. I have another final on campus on Thursday from 11:30-1:30. We will have extra seating to accomodate anyone who missed the exam on Tuesday evening. Please email me so that I can bring the appropriate number of tests on Thursday, or if we need to make alternative arrangements. Once again, I sincerely apologize that I did not discover this error before the exam. I hope it did not cause any of you too much stress! I remember oversleeping on the date of one of my college exams, and I still have nightmares about it! Michele Fritz Business 54 Instructor

Course Description
This course provides students with knowledge of basic mathematical operations and how they are applied to the field of business. There are three primary areas of the course. First students will review basic skills, including arithmetic, basic algebra, and percentages, and apply those skills in word problems and tax applications. In the second part of the course we survey the use of math throughout the different functions of a business, such as in securities transactions, pricing calculations, inventory valuation, depreciation methods, payroll calculations, and basic financial statement analysis. The last portion of the course involves the time value of money, including various types of loan and investment calculations, mortgages, and annuities.
